    Monterey, California
    August 19th, 2006

This was a private function event for the members of the Chamisal Tennis and Fitness Club’s 30th anniversary in Monterey. A stage with lighting was set up on a tennis court and a three camera video crew recorded the show.

Starting at 2p.m. was Santa Cruz based band The Hot Rods.
The Monterey/Santa Cruz area band Live Action Heroes followed next. Al joined the popular cover dance band, Live Action Heroes, at the end of their one hour set. He played a short but spirited rockin’set. Al was in very good spirits and in excellent shape vocally. Live Action Heroes faithfully backed Al on these tunes and it was really wonderful to hear “California Saga: California” included in the set. There were cheers from the 500 plus throng sunburned members when Monterey and Salinas were mentioned in the lyrics. It was a good day of fun for everyone! A guitar signed by Al was given to the winner of the “Wipe Out” drumming contest during Live Action Heroes’ audience participation number. Stevie Heger is also the leader of his own band, Hey Stevie. Check out www.HeyStevie.com for the latest news on his forthcoming
    DVD release.

    John Hoskinson

John Hoskinson has graced our playlists for two years and his album "Miscellaneous Heathen" is a must have for any fan of jangly melodic rock. Yes, his song "I Hope I Die Before You Do" is still in heavy rotation like it's a brand spanking new record, but it's new to anyone who has never heard it before. John's album is pure pop bliss. We had a chance to have him on the air and you can listen to his entire interview online. It's not in stereo like our own streaming site for The Time Machine but John Hoskinson has made it available at his official site for download at 50 minutes with Lo-Fi mono audio. We don't know how much longer it will be available so check it out while you can.

Hanging Loose on the Island of Hawaii - aka "The Big Island"

Nothing really to show or explain. Not an album cover shoot. Just Michael McCartney thinking about lunch while a photograph is snapped. It was odd for members of The Time Machine to hear the radio show come in loud and clear on the Kona Coast, Waikoloa and the Kohala Coast (Enjoyed the fine folks at Kawaihae). We often get calls and emails from the other Hawaiian islands but when we're in the air studio, we have no idea just how far the signal really reaches and that listeners in different locales from our own home base can hear us spreading music over the Hawaiian airwaves. It's almost easier for the staff to comprehend being heard online in other parts of the globe from Europe to Japan or Africa to Canada than just a few hundred miles away.

    Denyne,

It looks like Sasha isn't the only one who goes "slightly mental" in the cinema lobby. This was not planned! Honest promise!
