Maree McRae Interview on The Time Machine for Maui and Hawaii Performances
Singer-songwriter Maree McRae is concert bound for both Maui and Hawaii next week. She was a guest on The Time Machine to discuss her music from her latest album "Urgency" and share her enthusiasm for her upcoming performances in Lahaina and Kona. Her sophomore album is filled with heartfelt songs and includes the song heard on The Time Machine for the past year, "Breeze". Joining Maree during her Hawaii concerts will be Celtic Thunder's Linda Hickman.
Also heard on the broadcast is a tribute to guitarist and producer Tony Peluso who passed away June 5th. His fuzz guitar solo on "Goodbye To Love" by The Carpenters is absolute pure pop rock perfection. Not only was he the guitarist on The Carpenters hit version of Klaatu's "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft" but Tony was also the DJ character voice on the intro. He's produced The Jackson 5, The Four Tops, Michael Learns To Rock, Smokey Robinson, Stephanie Mills, Danny O'Keefe, Lauren Christy, The Triplets, Dave Koz, Michael Jackson, Jack Wagner and played with Seals & Crofts plus Deana Carter. He's worked with a lot of artists in addition to engineering for Kenny Loggins, The Fixx, Boyz II Men, Player, Apollonia, Gipsy Kings and Maui's resident singer-songwriter Jennifer Weatherly. The list is long...which resulted in four Grammy Awards and over 150 million records sold. Tony is survived by his sons, Joe and Andrew. Funeral services will be held this Saturday, June 26 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Northridge, California.
Other artists heard on this Maui afternoon FM broadcast include; Courtney Jaye, Vertical Horizon, The Beatles, Nick Lowe, Tommy Tutone, Shawn Colvin, Carpenters, Rick Derringer, John Lennon, Stealers Wheel, Sara Evans, Photoglo, The Sylvers and Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen.
