Larry John and Michael McCartney Hijack Shaggy Jenkins' Television Show

Maui WOW Radio Network's Larry John and host of "The Tub" along with The Time Machine's Michael McCartney were guests on Shaggy Jenkins television and radio simulcast during the busy 5PM hour in the middle of the week. Both Larry and Michael ended up hijacking the series from television host Shaggy. Apparently, the show was live on television and radio without any problems, but the archived playback system at the television station ended up with color bar test patterns for the first half hour. Instead of offering you video, which is filled with faces for radio, we're letting you listen to the audio of the broadcast which is just as compelling a case to never have either Larry John or Michael McCartney on your television series.

Brian Ray of The Bayonets and Andrew Curry Debuts Mike Viola and The Nines on The Time Machine

Brian Ray of The Bayonets returned to The Time Machine to share the group's brand new single "Crash Boom Bang!" from the band's upcoming album in July. That's right, The Bayonets are back! Oliver Leiber and Brian Ray are joined again by Lucrecia López Sanz and Scott Shriner on harmony vocals, Davey Faragher on bass, Adam MacDougall on keys, as well as the great Joe Zook and Marc DeSisto at the controls. It's a sizzling rocker that The Time Machine radio host Michael McCartney stated that the song suggested an almost homage to "Dirty Water" by The Standells and other seminal garage rock bands circa 1965 to 1966. The song is now available on iTunes and a cool music video of the rocking tune can be viewed at YouTube. Since Brian's fearless band leader Paul McCartney made recent headlines over a virus that the doctors ordered bed rest versus touring for a couple of weeks, The Time Machine Radio Crew wondered if Brian had to perform while sick over his long spanning career. He shared a concert performance moment with Nicolette Larson back in the early eighties. Andrew Curry also returned to the broadcast to debut two brand new songs for the upcoming album project "Here Comes The Reign Again: The Second British Invasion". Both The Nines and Mike Viola made their world broadcast debuts with cool covers. The first song that Andrew shared was The Nines taking on Talk Talk's "Life's What You Make It" and a beautiful intimate arrangement of "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" from Tears For Fears.

Brand new music from Chrissie Hynde, Timmy Sean and Fernando Perdomo was also played on the radio show. Others artists featured on this afternoon Maui FM broadcast aircheck include Paul Warren & Explorer, Badfinger, The Smith Bros. and Fountains of Wayne.

Fast Eddie and Puppet Prenuptial Radio Show on The Time Machine

After going steady for nineteen years, The Time Machine's radio hosts Fast Eddie and Puppet, finally decide to tie the knot and make it official. They decided to spin music on the FM dial one last time before becoming bride and groom just one week away. It was also a chance for Michael McCartney to play in the new studio and for both Fast Eddie and Puppet to get acquainted with the new surroundings and placement of equipment. On a personal note, the brand new studio making its debut on the FM dial this week, is just around the corner from the house that Puppet used to live in as a child before moving to Lahaina.

Artists featured on this Maui afternoon FM aircheck include Tori Amos, Cheap Trick, The Smith Bros., Little Feat, George Paoa, Steely Dan, Dave Stephens, Alice Peacock, Kelly Jones, John Alagia, Mike Viola, Rilo Kiley, Matt Nathanson, Graham Gouldman, 10cc, The Beatles, Kalapana, David Bowie, John Alagia, Butch Walker & The Black Widows, Blossom, Chip Hatlelid & Shave Ice, Ray Gooliak, Bread, Neil Diamond & Brian Wilson, Fountains of Wayne, Rachael Yamagata, Mandy Moore, Hugh Grant & Hayley Bennett, Airwaves, Sutherland Brothers, Brian Ray, The Bangles, Marty Rudnick, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Carly Simon, Wet Willie, Johnny Maestro & The Brooklyn Bridge, Rickie Lee Jones, Flash & The Pan, The Beach Boys, Rhett Miller, The Ides Of March, B.J. Courtney Jaye's Official Music Video for MORNING

One of the most played songs on The Time Machine Radio Show last year was Courtney Jaye's "Morning" and it was even sweeter to have Courtney drop by the studio here on Maui to perform the song over the FM dial. All of us at The Time Machine are forever grateful for all that she's done for our broadcast out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean for the last decade. She's always been gracious and filled with Aloha while putting up with my wacky and silly humor. She's truly a musical gemstone worth seeking out. There is now an official music video for this song. Enjoy this tune off of her wonderful album "Love and Forgiveness".
