The Time Machine Remembers Charlie Garrett And Lari White
The Hawaiian airwaves on both AM and FM lost Boyd Scofield, who as Charlie Garrett, greeted radio listeners from the Surf News Network with latest surf report. Many members of The Time Machine Crew will miss shooting the breeze with Charlie before and after his surf reports. He loved music and he loved the waves. He embraced life. Singer-songwriter and actress Lari White also embraced life and her life was taken too soon. Both her music and her moments on celluloid projected onto the big screen and the little screen will be remembered for generations to come.
Lari's remembrance can be heard at the 23 minute mark on this Maui afternoon FM broadcast showcasing her music and acting opposite Tom Hanks. Charlie's tribute featuring Gary Kewley and Sonja Evensen, both of the Surf News Network, begins at the 32 minute mark.

Singer-songwriters Willie Kahaiali'i and Michael McDonald returned to The Time Machine as musical guests. Willie K was gearing up for the Willie K and Friends Bluesfest at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center this past January 6th featuring his band Willie K & The Warehouse Blues Band Alice Cooper, Asleep At The Wheel's Ray Benson, Alto Reed from the Bob Seger Band, Gretchen Rhodes, KD Russell Band, Kennedy Cantu and both Michael McDonald and Patrick Simmons from The Doobie Brothers. Both Willie and Michael shared with radio host Michael McCartney their thoughts behind the Bluesfest. Michael also shared some stories and inspirations behind some of his most popular songs that have been embraced all over the world for over forty years and discussed his brand new album "Wide Open".

Tim Smolens of I.S.S. (Ideal Social Situation) was the first musical guest of 2018 on The Time Machine. Tim's songs "She's A Girl", "Lucky She Is Mine" and "Stand By Your Man" made their world broadcast debut on The Time Machine and Tim shared his thoughts on his latest batch of songs from the album "She's A Girl". The album's title track is an amazing song that will stop you in your tracks and have you reaching for the volume knob to turn it up.
