Chris Collingwood, Rachael Yamagata, Andrew Curry and David Myhr Inteviews on The Time Machine

Singer-songwriter Rachael Yamagata returns to The Time Machine along with Fountains of Wayne's Chris Collingwood to debut brand new songs with Andrew Curry for the upcoming album project "Here Comes The Reign Again: The Second British Invasion". Both Chris and Rachael discuss their cover arrangements of two eighties classics for the album. "Life In A Northern Town" from Dream Academy gets the treatment from Chris Collingwood with Winterpills adding to those wonderful harmonies. The Culture Club's massive worldwide radio hit "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me" truly gets the magic touch from Rachael Yamagata that her fans around the globe have embraced. Another new song from Rachael is also featured on the broadcast that was a collaboration with composer David Das for the motion picture soundtrack "The Appearing" starring Emily Brooks, Will Wallace, Don Swayze and Dean Cain. The Lionsgate film released in March from director Daric Gates can currently be seen on demand online at Amazon. In addition to the haunting sound that Rachael and David have created for the film's closing credits, "Disappear" features the incredible violin playing of Songa Lee. A disclaimer should be added to this as one of The Time Machine's radio show hosts, Michael McCartney, also served as Music Supervisor for the movie (which he humbly admits that all he really did was get the two creative forces of David Das and Rachael Yamagata together for the film's score). Kicking off the broadcast is another return guest. Rocker and singer-songwriter David Myhr's song "Record Collection" has been receiving heavy airplay on The Time Machine for over a year following the release of his wonderful debut album "Soundshine" two years ago, the co-founding member of The Merrymakers made available to the FM airwaves of Hawaii this catchy tune that frames a relationship down to musical tastes between two people's own personal music collections. Many of our radio listening audience gravitated towards this song's lyrics and melodies and now that song is included in David Myhr's brand new upcoming digital EP release this May 5th. The Time Machine Crew couldn't happier that the EP is titled "Record Collection" and is a delight from beginning to end. "Boom Boom Beat" also makes a debut on David's forthcoming EP featuring Puffy Amiyumi.

Others artists featured on this afternoon Maui FM broadcast aircheck include Fountains of Wayne, Robbie Fulks, Jon Brion, Mike Viola and Puffy AmiYumi (aka Puffy).

Ken Stringfellow, Karla Kane, Fernando Perdomo and Andrew Curry Interviews on The Time Machine

Andrew Curry returned to The Time Machine this week to debut two more songs from the upcoming album project "Here Comes The Reign Again: The Second British Invasion". Andrew shared Ken Stringfellow's arrangement of The Blow Monkey's "Digging Your Scene" and the Madness classic "Our House" performed by The Corner Laughers. Both songs made their world broadcast debut this past week and it was a perfect opportunity to have singer-songwriter and producer Ken Stringfellow (The Posies, Big Star and R.E.M.) on the broadcast to discuss his participation with the forthcoming release along with singer-songwriter Karla Kane talking about her bands The Corner Laughers and Agony Aunts. This week also saw the release of Fernando Perdomo's latest song "Girl With A Record Collection" off of his upcoming album "Warm" along with a music video of the single to coincide with National Record Store Day. Fernando returned to The Time Machine for a conversation about record stores and the women who love their record collections.

A brand new stripped down cover of the seventies classic Raspberries song "Go All The Way" from Lisa Mychols was also featured on the radio show. Others artists featured on this afternoon Maui FM broadcast aircheck include The Posies, Mike Viola, Brian Ray, The Bangles, Cheap Trick, Teenage Fanclub, Courtney Jaye and Second Saturday.

The Time Machine with Andrew Curry's Broadcast Debuts of Tracy Bonham, The Wellingtons and Eric Barao from Here Comes The Reign Again: The Second British Invasion

Andrew Curry returned to The Time Machine last week with more exciting news about the upcoming album project "Here Comes The Reign Again: The Second British Invasion". Andrew debuted Taylor Locke's cover of Billy Idol's "Dancin' With Myself" on The Time Machine the previous week and now that Pandora's eighties box has been opened, three more songs made their world broadcast debut this past week. All three musical acts have made an impact on The Time Machine's playlists. Rocker and singer-songwriter Tracy Bonham first landed on the Hawaiian airwaves in 1996 with "Mother Mother" from her debut album "The Burdens of Being Upright" and remained a staple on our playlists ever since. Tracy's arrangement of "Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This" by The Eurythmics makes use of strings in a wonderful way. The Wellingtons have been filling the radio dial on Maui with their super catchy songs filled with hooks that stick inside your head long after the songs are over. They chose to cover Yazoo's "Only You" that would make Yaz's Alison Moyet and Vince Clarke proud. Finally, Eric Barao was one of The Time Machine's most played artists on the air for 2013. Eric decision to offer his take on the Gloria Jones' classic "Tainted Love" that enjoyed an entire new life in 1981 from Soft Cell that resulted in an international success and remains stamped as a solid eighties evergreen to dance to, is given an extremely layered sound. The homage is absolute pure pop bliss. The staff of The Time Machine swore they heard an ukulele or a guitar had a capo up high on the neck.

Others artists featured on this afternoon Maui FM broadcast aircheck include Dexy's Midnight Runners, Tears For Fears and Bananarama.
