The Time Machine with Andrew Curry's Broadcast Debuts of Tracy Bonham, The Wellingtons and Eric Barao from Here Comes The Reign Again: The Second British Invasion

Andrew Curry returned to The Time Machine last week with more exciting news about the upcoming album project "Here Comes The Reign Again: The Second British Invasion". Andrew debuted Taylor Locke's cover of Billy Idol's "Dancin' With Myself" on The Time Machine the previous week and now that Pandora's eighties box has been opened, three more songs made their world broadcast debut this past week. All three musical acts have made an impact on The Time Machine's playlists. Rocker and singer-songwriter Tracy Bonham first landed on the Hawaiian airwaves in 1996 with "Mother Mother" from her debut album "The Burdens of Being Upright" and remained a staple on our playlists ever since. Tracy's arrangement of "Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This" by The Eurythmics makes use of strings in a wonderful way. The Wellingtons have been filling the radio dial on Maui with their super catchy songs filled with hooks that stick inside your head long after the songs are over. They chose to cover Yazoo's "Only You" that would make Yaz's Alison Moyet and Vince Clarke proud. Finally, Eric Barao was one of The Time Machine's most played artists on the air for 2013. Eric decision to offer his take on the Gloria Jones' classic "Tainted Love" that enjoyed an entire new life in 1981 from Soft Cell that resulted in an international success and remains stamped as a solid eighties evergreen to dance to, is given an extremely layered sound. The homage is absolute pure pop bliss. The staff of The Time Machine swore they heard an ukulele or a guitar had a capo up high on the neck.

Others artists featured on this afternoon Maui FM broadcast aircheck include Dexy's Midnight Runners, Tears For Fears and Bananarama.
