THE TIME MACHINE is a radio program that uses a nonsense name as an excuse in order to play music from all over the musical spectrum. The show plays a lot of new stuff in addition to covering over 70 years of POP sounds.

China Forbes Interview on The Time Machine
Singer-songwriter China Forbes was a guest on The Time Machine. The gifted artist is performing with Pink Martini at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center inside the Castle Theater on Sunday evening, September 4th, 2016. China shared her thoughts behind her early youth being portrayed on the big screen with Mark Ruffalo (who earned a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor) and Zoe Saldana playing her parents in her sister Maya Forbes' directed film "Infinitely Polar Bear" and inspirations behind her songs "Hey Eugene!" and "'78". Radio host Michael McCartney also asked China how she came to record Anna Waronker and Charlotte Caffey's "Ordinary Girl" for the television series "Clueless".
Thompson Square's Keifer Thompson was a guest on The Time Machine broadcast. Keifer and his wife Shawna make up the Grammy nominated duo of Thompson Square, who are enjoying the island of Maui this week, where they are scheduled for concert performance this Sunday (August 21st, 2016) at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. Radio host Michael McCartney asked Keifer to share his thoughts on songwriting and both Shawna and his recent journey into parenthood for the very first time this year.
Rocker, singer-songwriter and producer Michael Carpenter returned to The Time Machine to discuss his three new album releases all within a year. Michael shared his thoughts with radio hosts Tanya Teal and Michael McCarteney behind both of what may be his final solo album "The Big Radio" and final album with The Cuban Heels titled "Ain't Nothing Left To Say". Coming on the tail end of these releases is Michael's sixth "Songs Of Other People" as "S.O.O.P. #6" which is another brilliant collection of covers that the artist enjoys doing. A wide variety of tunes from artists as varied as George Harrison, Bruce Springsteen, Rockpile, Cheap Trick, Cliff Richard, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Dwight Twilley Band, The Searchers (Jackie DeShannon fans rejoice) and even Maui's own mid-seventies band The Gerbils. The Time Machine Crew were excited to have Michael Carpenter back on the broadcast and cherish his work with Marty Rudnick over a decade ago that lead to The Time Machine's first official theme song of the new millennium.
Brand new music was also featured from Seth Swirsky, Stephen Bishop, Mark Bacino, Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra, Kimo Nevius, Ken Sharp and Steve Craig. Other artists heard on this Maui afternoon aircheck include; The Pretenders, Bread, The Fireman, Glen Campbell, Grapefruit, Bay City Rollers, Mike Viola, The Waifs, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, The Beach Boys, Robert Gordon, John Lennon & The Plastic Ono Band, The Bangles, People On Vacation, The Smith Bros. and The Orchid Highway.
