Ashtar Command on "Ugly Betty" tonight.
Singer-songwriter Rachael Yamagata continues her musical tour with Sara Bareilles on the east coast and has an update for your television set.
I sang with my friends Ashtar Command on a track called, "Blister of the Spotlight." And tonight, you'll be able to hear it in a new episode of "Ugly Betty" on ABC.

We've been spinning this song on the radio for the past year and a half and it's so cool to see that it's getting used on a television series.

Our radio website got slammed with over a thousand emails and hits the past two days due to search engine frenzy about "Blister Of The Spotlight" from Ashtar Command. It was played on "Ugly Betty" last Thursday evening during a scene with Betty on the street at night as the fireworks went off in the distance. This was not the song heard at the very end of the show. This was about fifteen minutes before the show was over. People from around the country have been trying to find this song and somehow Google and Yahoo! along with several other search engines brought them to us. Wow. The power of the internet.
The song was first released on an album from Chris Holmes back in 2006. This is the version that we've been playing on the radio for over a year and a half. The album is called "Get Yer Yum-Yum's Out!". It may not be available anymore. The song is available at iTunes from Ashtar Command. Type in "Ashtar Command" in the search engine at iTunes and you will see "Blister Of The Spotlight" listed as the first song from their album "Love Songs In Advance Of The Landing". Ashtar Command is a band that Chris Holmes is in (he's in the above photo on the right with fellow Ashtar Command member Brian Liesegang on the left) and Rachael Yamagata (below photograph) is doing the backing vocals for that beautiful blend. Our radio audience has been enjoying this song on the FM dial out here in Hawaii. Glad that it got exposure via a hit network television series.

How in the hell do we get the song!?! It was so freakin frustrating trying to figure out who the heck was singing or what the title was! Please tell us!

We hope that you meant that it was frustrating and difficult to find online before you found our radio website. Rachael Yamagata mentioned that the song is titled "Blister Of The Spotlight" and that it is performed by Ashtar Command.
