The Stones That I Throw At The Time Machine
Since The Time Machine airs seven days a week on the Hawaiian airwaves from Maui, producers Jenny Leong, Summer Blue and Ashley Starr don't always record the broadcasts. Often radio airchecks are recorded from the FM audio broadcast when there's a guest on the radio show. On occasion, a guest may not have arrived due to a traffic tie-up (or they lost track of time while enjoying one of the many beaches or waterfalls that the island of Maui offers), any of the producers may have flipped the switch to the record mode and ended up either recording an entire radio show before it became apparent the scheduled guest won't be on the show or found out early enough to hit the stop button. Members of The Time Machine Crew are often asked why aren't all of the radio shows posted online. It's simple really. It's on seven days a week. It would be informational overload to post nearly 365 radio broadcasts from the last twenty-seven years of The Time Machine. The radio hosts are all extremely critical of their voices and can't stand to hear themselves. The only exception to that rule was our beloved Larry John, who sadly passed away two months ago. He often stated that he loved hearing his voice in his headset cranked up at full volume. Many of us could actually hear his voice and music blaring from his headset before even walking into the studio.
This particular radio show was never erased during the fall of 2017, but it is only a portion of the broadcast. Disc jockeys Tanya Teal and Michael McCartney featured brand new music from Steve Craig, The 7 and 6, Bun E. Carlos and James Maddock. Other artists featured on this Maui afternoon FM aircheck include; The Smith Bros., Daryl Hall and John Oates, Liverpool Echo, Tim Moore, Song, David Bowie, The Spongetones, Normie Rowe & The Playboys, Thirsty Merc, John Hoskinson, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Jane Wiedlin, The Traveling Wilburys, Jimmy Haber, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Paul McCartney and Wings, Eleanor Bodel and Alice Peacock.
