Soul Kitchen Returns To The Time Machine

Soul Kitchen returned to The Time Machine to share their single "Kiss Me" and to give their latest single "Voodoo Workin' " a world broadcast debut to coincide with the release of their music video of the song filmed on Maui. Band members Naor Nave, Michael Elam and Tempa Singer joined radio hosts Tanya Teal and Michael McCartney to discuss the new songs and video. The group also shared what they've been up to and The Time Machine Radio Show Crew were excited to have them back in the studio and to feature the brand new songs for the radio audience. Also heard on this Maui afternoon radio aircheck is their live performance of The Jackson 5 number one classic "I Want You Back" which was composed by the writing team of Motown chief Berry Gordy, Freddie Perren, Alphonso Mizell and Deke Richards.

Soul Kitchen is an acoustic-infused musical alchemy, both blending and transcending the traditional genres of Cajun, Zydeco, Soul, Funk, Blues, Jazz, Classic rock and Middle Eastern influences. The stirring, smoldering voice of award-winning lead vocalist Tempa Singer Nave (Best Colorado Blues Band, Best Soul Album Award) and effortlessly buoyant rhythms of guitarist Naor Nave (Israeli Idol finalist) meld with drummers Kevin Garland and Kerry Sofaly funk-filled cues mixed with traditional washboard playing and bassist Marcus Johnson simmering syncopations to satisfy even the most voracious musical appetite. While Bruce Boege's seasoned saxophone drips with cool, violinist Susan S. Westcott pepper this sublime fusion with a sweetly percolating resonance tempered by a dash of balanced precision. finally, the subtle and sustaining tones of keyboardist Michael Elam round out the mix to make this exquisite mess of soulful flavors an essential Maui experience for the musical senses.
