Anya Marina Returns To The Time Machine Via Paper Plane
Singer-songwriter Anya Marina returned to The Time Machine to discuss her upcoming album "Paper Plane".
Anya has been a musical guest on The Time Machine numerous times over the years and it's always a treat to have the gifted songwriter on the Maui airwaves. She has had her music featured in motion pictures like "Twilight Saga: New Moon” and prime time television series as varied as "The Good Wife", "Castle", "How I Met Your Mother", "The Real World", "The Vampire Diaries", "United States of Tara", "Gossip Girl", "Supernatural" and "Grey's Anatomy".
Anya shared with the FM audience her thoughts on missing the world of radio, directors Scott Coffey (another Hawaii born talent) and Spencer Gentz, the humorous podcast "We Know Nothing" about relationships that she originally co-hosted with roommate and comedian Nikki Glaser and comedian Phil Hanley (and now both Anya and Phil are joined by comedian Sam Morril), the "old married couple" relationship she describes between radio host Michael McCartney of The Time Machine and herself, drooling over the studio equipment of Howard Stern's studio and treating the Hawaiian airwaves with her new musical collaborations with Leo Sidran and Latin Grammy Award winner Alex Cuba who also took home two Juno Awards.
The Time Machine's co-host Tanya Teal also featured new music from artists Thomas McConnell and Eric Barao. Other artists heard on this Maui afternoon FM broadcast included Bill Lloyd, Marshall Crenshaw, The Smith Bros., Green Day, Nick Heyward, All Star United and The Spongetones.
