Mike Viola Returns To The Time Machine
Singer-songwriter Mike Viola has unleashed his latest album "Electro De Perfecto". The extremely gifted and prolific artist returned as a guest on The Time Machine last week. Mike's music has long been on our playlists since the nineties. From his own Candy Butchers to film soundtrack work on "That Thing You Do!", "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story" and "Get Him To The Greek" to his involvement with L.E.O. and The Major Labels, Viola has continued to win our audience over with catchy melodies and killer hooks. Mike has also produced some wonderful artists that have graced our airwaves the past few years like Kelly Jones, Mandy Moore, Rachael Yamagata and Marissa Levy.
Mike's tight trio on the album are rounded out by the bass playing of Sean Hurley (Vertical Horizon, Colbie Caillat, Liz Phair, Ben Lee, Judith Owen, Arden Kaywin, Brooke Fraser, Mya, Ringo Starr, Annie Lennox, Alicia Keys and Robin Thicke) and Victor Indrizzo (Rachael Yamagata, Sheryl Crow, Malea McGuinness, Shonen Knife, Red Kross, Michael Penn, Meatloaf, Mandi Perkins, Donavon Frankenreiter, Brandi Carlile and Aimee Mann) on the drums. Dan Wilson (Semisonic, Trip Shakespeare) and Adam Schlesinger (Fountains Of Wayne, Tinted Windows and Ivy) add their talents to "Get You Back" which is currently in heavy rotation on The Time Machine.
Other brand new songs heard on this aircheck include The Bangles, Marissa Levy, Rachael Yamagata and an interview with Starr Saunders featuring her latest single "We Were One". Other artists heard on this Maui afternoon FM broadcast include; The Smith Bros., The Candy Butchers, The Wonders and Mandy Moore.
