The Only Present I Want This Year on The Time Machine
Radio hosts Daphne Matsumoto and Michael McCartney bring more Christmas cheer to The Time Machine broadcast with brand new songs from The Smith Bros., Bob Dylan and Michael Bishop. Shave ice is festive all year round in Hawaii but naturally it comes up yet again using Christmas as a reason to discuss it on the air. Pop Garden Radio host Adam Waltemire brought up the subject and Na Leo Pilimehana's take on "The Twelve Days Of Christmas" heard on this radio aircheck has the trio singing, "Ten rainbow shave ice". "The Only Present I Want This Year" is a wonderful song by Eytan Mirsky that was used as a podcast title for this broadcast. All that the air staff of The Time Machine wants for Christmas is enough shave ice for everyone to enjoy.
The Time Machine features Christmas songs from two artists that the music world lost this year, The Retro's Jeffrey Glenn and the legendary Al Martino. Other artists heard on this Maui afternoon radio aircheck include; Lisa Mychols, Band Aid, Paul McCartney, Jimmy Fallon, The Brian Setzer Orchestra, Squeeze, Weird Al Yankovic, Jill Sobule, The Waitresses, David Bowie & Bing Crosby, Peggy Lee, Randy Newman, Carnie & Wendy Wilson, The Sun Kings, Father Guido Sarducci, The Fleshtones and The Beach Boys.
***Summer Blue and Michael McCartney try their best to stay up for Santa but end up falling asleep on the broadcast studio floor while Daphne Matsumoto continues to spin Christmas songs on the radio.
