    Toubab Krewe Interview on The Time Machine





    Justin Perkins and Luke Quaranta from the band Toubab Krewe were guests on The Time Machine. Group members Vic Stafford, Drew Heller and David Pransky are also on the island of Maui for a concert tonight at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center. Both Luke and Justin shared with the radio audience their early musical inspirations and how the band came together to create their unique sound.

    Stephen Bishop Returns To The Time Machine







    Singer-songwriter Stephen Bishop has been a favorite guest on The Time Machine over the years and it's always a treat to have him return to the broadcast. The Academy Award nominated artist recently got together with guitarist Mark Goldenberg who produced a beautiful arrangement of Stephen performing their dear friend Andrew Gold's classic song "Thank You For Being A Friend". The Time Machine Crew were extremely honored that Leslie Gold let us share the song on the radio for the past five months.

    Chris Richards Interview on The Time Machine





    Rocker and singer-songwriter Chris Richards of Chris Richards and The Subtractions was a recent guest on The Time Machine. 2012 was a year that not only yielded another great rock album from the band titled "Get Your La La's Out" but the group also offered up a free end of the year covers EP called "That Covers That 2- Electric Boogaloo". The free digital download on Bandcamp follows the path of the their first covers EP but this time around Cheap Trick, The Who, Ace Frehley, The Cavedogs and The Kinks get the Subtractions treatment. Chris shared with the radio audience the humble beginnings of his musical journey and how he and his fellow bandmates stay the course all for rock and roll.

    Carlos Santana, Michael Damian, Jessica Mellott and Andrew Curry Interviews on The Time Machine





    Returning to The Time Machine are musical guests Michael Damian, Jessica Mellott, Carlos Santana and record producer Andrew Curry. Director, actor and singer-songwriter Michael Damian shared with our radio audience his latest song "Rock My Heart" from his motion picture "The Sweeter Side Of Life" starring Kathryn Morris (star of the long running series "Cold Case" on CBS), James Best ("The Dukes Of Hazzard") and Alastair MacKenzie ("Monarch of the Glen") that premiered on the Hallmark Channel last Saturday evening. The highly entertaining film featuring The Time Machine's radio show host Michael McCartney's former girlfriend, Kathryn Morris, will have an encore performance this Friday night on the Hallmark Channel at 8PM Eastern / 7PM Central. In addition to directing the film, Michael also co-wrote the script with Janeen Damian ("A Princess for Christmas", "Marley & Me: The Puppy Years", "Moondance Alexander" and "Hot Tamale"). Singer-songwriter Jessica Mellott released her latest EP towards the end of 2012 and discussed the inspiration behind her latest batch of songs. Legendary guitarist and rock icon, Carlos Santana, shared his love for Maui and looked forward to his upcoming concert on the Valley Isle at the end of February. Andrew Curry from The Monsters Of Lite Rock website returned to The Time Machine as well to debut two brand new arrangements of classic songs from the forthcoming release "Drink A Toast To Innocence: A Tribute To Lite Rock". Andrew has become a fixture on The Time Machine Radio Show since late last year discussing the album project and featuring songs from this loving tribute for pop fans all over the world. This time around, making their world broadcast debut on the radio last week, were two wonderful takes from rock band Vegas With Randolph ("Cool Change" by The Little River Band) and rocker David Myhr ("The Things We Do For Love" by 10cc).

    More "Lite Rock" Tributes Presented by Andrew Curry from The Davenports, Throwback Suburbia and Lannie Flowers





    Record producer Andrew Curry from The Monsters Of Lite Rock website returns to The Time Machine to debut three brand new arrangements of classic songs from the forthcoming release "Drink A Toast To Innocence: A Tribute To Lite Rock". Andrew has become a fixture on The Time Machine Radio Show since late last year discussing the album project and featuring songs from this loving tribute for pop fans all over the world. This time around, making their world broadcast debut on the radio last week, were three wonderful takes from rock bands Throwback Suburbia ("I Love You" by Climax Blues Band from 1981), The Davenports (Randy VanWarmer's 1979 classic "Just When I Needed You Most") and rocker Lannie Flowers ("Dance With Me" by Orleans from 1974).

    Rob Bonfiglio Interview On The Time Machine





    Rocker and singer-songwriter Rob Bonfiglio has been very busy lately with Wanderlust's reunion album "Record Time" and producing the album "Dedicated" for Wilson Phillips, it's a wonder that Rob was able to release one of his own albums at the end of 2012 right after a Christmas single (released on a 45 RPM no less). One of the most played albums on the air from 2008 was Rob's album "Bring On The Happy", so The Time Machine has been looking forward to playing his latest batch of songs from his brand new album "Mea Culpa". Rob is no stranger to our playlists. Since the turn of the century, Rob's music has filled the Maui airwaves as a solo artist, a member of The Better Days, The Skies Of America and Superstone (the brainchild of rocker Ken Sharp). Rob's musical career goes further back into the 90's as a member of the RCA label band Wanderlust and his recent musical output has been featured on the soundtracks of motion pictures. The Time Machine crew were quite happy to have Rob return as a guest to the program. Rob discussed his latest album and shared some insight on some of his songs with the radio audience.

    Willie K. Returns To The Time Machine





    Singer-songwriter Willie K. returns to The Time Machine to share some stories about his music, perform a few songs live on the radio and invite everyone on the island of Maui to join him at Mulligans on the Blue in Wailea as Willie presents the first annual ALL BLUES music festival at Mulligans on the Blue in Wailea, Maui, Hawaii. As host of the festival, Willie is featuring legendary musicians Elvin Bishop and Mick Fleetwood along with local bluesmen Bobby Ingram and Tom Conway. Angela Strehli, Gilbert Emata, James "Hutch" Hutchinson, Gregory Marsh and Lenny Castellanos are also onstage to perform for the six hour blues festival. More special guests to be announced as the festival kicks off this Saturday. One of the most celebrated and talented singer-songwriters to emerge from Hawaii in the eighties and make a name for himself as one of Hawaii's top entertainers around the world is Willie K. Throughout the nineties and the turn of the century, Willie Kahaiali’i redefined the music scene in Hawaii. Willie was a guest on The Time Machine last year and shared his thoughts behind his latest blues masterpiece "Warehouse Blues". With numerous albums under his artistic belt along with outside musical projects like the successful duo The Barefoot Natives (with Eric Gilliom) and Amy Hanaiali’i, the guitar virtuoso discussed his upcoming releases for 2013 with radio host Michael McCartney.

    The band members on "Warehouse Blues" are some of Maui's finest musicians; Jerry Byers on bass guitar, Kris Thomas on drums, percussionist Mio "Timbolero" Flores and Tam Sugayan on congas. Playing the killer electric guitar on "Nasty Thing" is Avi Ronen who is featured as a special guest musician on the album along with Howard Eisenberg on saxophone and Sam Ahia, Sr. performs the jazz guitar on "Lonely Man". While Willie bent those guitar strings and sang his heart out, Jesse Alpuro and Nick Fournier engineered the album. Nick Fournier also mixed the album with Jonathan Starr and it was mastered by John Scrip. A collaborative effort to bring the artistic style of Willie K to the ears of global music fans appreciative of the blues.



    A special Mahalo Nui Loa goes out to Jesse Alpuro and Donora Kahaiali'i for making this interview and performance happen at the very last minute.
