    Kissing Santa On Christmas Eve

It was another radio marathon for The Time Machine Crew on Christmas Eve with Summer Blue sitting in producer Jenny Leong's seat, making sure that Daphne Matsumoto and Michael McCartney were never without Christmas music while behind their microphones. Special thanks goes out to KPMW's Ryan Piros and KEAO's Kathy Collins for unleashing The Time Machine Crew to let their Christmas Ya-Ya's out for the Maui audiences. The amount of radio airtime given to Daphne, Summer and Michael for two days of non stop yuletide musical fun is unprecedented on Maui radio and both Ryan and Kathy will find some nifty treats in their stockings this year.

Speaking of treats, the Christmas broadcast tradition of being catered by former disc jockey Deron Furukawa and upside down kitty lover Kit Zulueta, continued with baking love from the kitchen to keep the air talent in a hyper and cheerful mood. DJ Kai and announcer Ali's brownies were deeply missed, as was producer Jenny's seasonal smoothies, but this year saw the debut of treats from the kitchen of Enchanted Weddings of Maui's own Lisa Villiarimo. Onolicious kudos go out to Deron, Kit and Lisa.

Special radio appearances on this Christmas Eve include Kate Goldby & Zac Anthony from The Wellingtons, Mike Viola, Rob Bonfiglio, Rachael Yamagata, Andrea Perry, Albert Brooks, Schuyler Fisk, Danny Wilkerson from The Pengwins, Laurie Biagini, Mike Nicholson from Stratocruiser, Cirrone, Neil Sedaka, Pamela Polland & Doc Roberts, Michael Oliver and Adam Waltermire introducing Chris Finlayson's performance of the Wham! seasonal classic "Last Christmas".

This portion of the Christmas Eve FM broadcast featured on this podcast is titled "Kissing Santa On Christmas Eve" which is named after a brand new song from singer-songwriter Kelly Jones. Her holiday tune made it's world broadcast debut in November and become one of the most played songs this Christmas season on The Time Machine. Other brand new Christmas songs were featured from The Mockers, Kurt Baker, Paul McCartney, FM Radio, Lisa Loeb, Graham Colton and Vegas With Randolph. Other artists heard on this Maui Christmas Eve FM aircheck include Andrew Gold, Marcy Levy Detroit, Liz Phair, The Sonic Executive Sessions, Rachel Sweet, Christmas Spirit, Mike Nichols & Elaine May, Wilson Phillips, Meiko, Stephen Colbert, Mandy Moore, Gabriella Cilmi, Melanie Fontana, Taryn Manning & Butch Walker, Maxi Dunn, Sarah Stanley & Sam Park, The Hollyberries (Kip Brown), Rachael Teo, Eytan Mirsky, Sheva Solomon and The Time Machine Christmas Crew.

A special "shout out" goes to our beloved Irina Voronina who has always been there for The Time Machine Radio Crew. Some new kitty collars will be in her stocking this Christmas for her furry companions.

Susanna Hoffs Interview On The Time Machine

Singer-songwriter Susanna Hoffs was a guest on The Time Machine over the holidays. The gifted artist shared the inspiration behind some of her songs off of her latest album "Someday". In less than six months, the summer released album became the most played album on the air for The Time Machine out of all of the records released in 2012. She just finished up her 2012 tour with band members Derrick Anderson, John Calacci, Andrew Brassell and Jim Laspesa and ended the year with an EP release of sixties covers that Sue equates to as a mix tape that she would hand out to a friend but this time around, instead of the original artists (The Zombies, The Beatles and The Jaynetts), it's her singing instead. Both the EP "From Me To You" and the album "Someday" were produced by Mitchell Froom.

In the short few hours of the interview, Susanna discussed working with current producer Mitchell Froom (Elvis Costello, Vonda Shepard, Crowded House, Robin Gibb, Paul McCartney, Suzanne Vega, Sheryl Crow), her ongoing collaboration with Matthew Sweet (Yes, there will be an "Under The Covers Vol.3" out sometime in 2013), Ming Tea and of course, The Bangles.

Susanna is a core artist of The Time Machine's radio format going back to the eighties with her fellow band mates Vicki Peterson, Debbi Peterson and Michael Steele of The Bangles. The band, along with The Traveling Wilburys, were the most played act on The Time Machine and helped define a sound for the radio broadcast that embraced a sixties musical sensibility with the modern music scene of the time. All four albums from The Bangles in the eighties solidified their status as radio core artists on The Time Machine and their return in 2003 with "Doll Revolution" was welcomed with open arms. The domination of that album's airplay was so strong that it became the most played album of the decade followed by Rachael Yamagata's debut album "Happenstance", "Not Ready To Make Nice" by The Dixie Chicks, Bruce Springsteen's "The Rising", Alice Peacock's self titled sophomore album, "Come Away With Me" by Norah Jones, John Mayer's "Room For Squares", "Mondo Magneto" by Brian Ray, "Lurch" from Mike Viola, "Brainwashed" by George Harrison, Nushu's "Nevermind Lullabye" and Rilo Kiley's "More Adventurous".

Andy Reed and Andrew Curry Interviews on The Time Machine

Singer-songwriter, rocker and producer Andy Reed from An American Underdog returns as a guest on The Time Machine. The gifted artist has been a part of The Time Machine's playlist over the years and he shared his thoughts on his latest songs.

Andy joined the broadcast along with Andrew Curry from the Monsters of Lite Rock website to unveil the world broadcast debut of An American Underdog's arrangement of the classic song "Thunder Island" by Jay Ferguson. The song will be featured on the upcoming 2013 album "Drink A Toast To Innocence: A Tribute To Lite Rock". Andrew Curry has become a fixture on The Time Machine Radio Show the past few months discussing the album project and featuring songs from the forthcoming release. In addition to An American Underdog, another world broadcast debut was shared by Andrew, from one of The Time Machine's core artists. Rocker and singer-songwriter Lisa Mychols dipped her toes into the seventies lite rock music pool and recorded David Soul's hit ballad "Don't Give Up On Us". Lisa brings a wonderful rock presence to the song with producer Steve Refling and still keeps the original tempo of the melody. Lisa has knocked one out of the ballpark once again and The Time Machine Crew is proud that Andrew Curry shared this on the radio.
